During a Zhi Neng class, a participant arrived with a locked lower back. I began the class with the Qi Field exercise and a few movements. I continued with the Rolling exercise (section 5). I advised her to sit down, to bend forward, if possible, gently between her legs. I guided the group down vertebra by vertebra, and to my surprise, I was prompted to place my hands on her lower back. I resisted for a few seconds, then, while continuing to guide the others verbally, I positioned my hands on her lower back without actually touching her. As she straightened up, my hands moved up her spine to her head. I returned to my seat and continued the class.
At the end of the lesson, we always have a discussion. Here's what she shared:
I was suffering from a sharp, stabbing lower back pain that appeared a few days before our weekly Zhi Neng session with Florence on Thursday evenings. Despite the pain, I decided to go to the session anyway.
During the class, while we were in a forward bend, Florence placed her hands on my lower back. I immediately felt a gentle warmth spreading through my lower back. Next, I felt a tingling sensation in the tissues, followed by a soothing effect, as if the smallest cells were regenerating.
And when Florence removed her hands, I noticed that the radiating pain had completely disappeared, and I was able to continue the session without any discomfort.
Gratitude to my teachers and the field of qi ❤️☯️🙏
