Building a Voice AI Agent — Looking for Guidance from This Community

Hi everyone 👋

I’m a restaurant owner and I’m starting to build a voice AI agent to handle incoming phone calls and orders so we stop missing calls during peak hours.

I’m not a voice expert — learning this in public.

My goals (phase 1):

• Answer calls reliably

• Understand intent (order, hours, menu, location)

• Support multiple languages

• Integrate with a basic ordering flow

I’d really appreciate advice on:

• Tech stack choices (LLMs, STT/TTS, orchestration)

• Common mistakes to avoid early

• Open-source tools or reference architectures

• How you’d approach MVP vs production
