Need Help With Prompt
Hey guys, hope you’re all well. I have a problem with my AI agent — it doesn’t follow my prompt and I don’t know why. I wrote my prompt using the CLEAR method (context, limitations, examples, and rules), but it still doesn’t work as expected. If anyone has tips or a simple way to write better prompts, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks for your help!

Quick tip for anyone building AI voice agents
The #1 thing that kills conversions isn't the AI voice quality. It's the response latency. If your AI takes 3+ seconds to respond after someone finishes talking, people hang up or get frustrated. Here's how to optimize for speed: 1. Use streaming TTS (text-to-speech starts playing while LLM is still generating) 2. Keep prompts under 500 tokens (faster LLM response) 3. Pre-load common responses (cache frequent answers) 4. Use GPT-4o-mini or Claude Sonnet instead of Opus (way faster, 90% as good) We got response time from 3.2 seconds to 0.8 seconds just by implementing these. Makes a huge difference in call quality.

@Mike Major Mmm, that shouldn't be too hard. Easy to set up from what am hearing about retell. Vapi is good in that too

How do you use an existing kwait business number with twilio for voice ai agent.
Hey everyone 👋 Has anyone here done SIP routing via a local provider in Kuwait for a voice AI agent? How do you use an existing kwait business number with twilio for voice ai agent. I’m trying to understand the step-by-step process for setting this up properly (carrier → local SIP/VoIP provider → platform like Retell). The goal is to keep the existing Kuwait business number and avoid unreliable SIM call forwarding. If you’ve done this before: Which local providers did you work with? What were the actual steps involved? Any gotchas I should be aware of (docs, approvals, timelines)? Also, if you know of any videos, guides, or walkthroughs that explain this clearly, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance 🙏 would love to learn from real-world experience.

And lastly from my research, Gotchas and Considerations - Regulations and Approvals: Telecommunications is a regulated industry in Kuwait, overseen by the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA). Be prepared to provide identity verification and proof of business registration documents. - Number Portability: Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is available in Kuwait, but specific conditions apply, such as the number needing to be active for a certain period. Check with your provider and Twilio support for your number's eligibility. - Documentation Timelines: The porting process involves coordination between multiple carriers and can take time, sometimes weeks, especially for landlines. - Twilio Compliance: You may need to create and validate a "Regulatory Bundle" in Twilio to use local Kuwaiti numbers, even if you are porting an existing one

Building a Voice AI Agent — Looking for Guidance from This Community
Hi everyone 👋 I’m a restaurant owner and I’m starting to build a voice AI agent to handle incoming phone calls and orders so we stop missing calls during peak hours. I’m not a voice expert — learning this in public. My goals (phase 1): • Answer calls reliably • Understand intent (order, hours, menu, location) • Support multiple languages • Integrate with a basic ordering flow I’d really appreciate advice on: • Tech stack choices (LLMs, STT/TTS, orchestration) • Common mistakes to avoid early • Open-source tools or reference architectures • How you’d approach MVP vs production If you’ve built or deployed voice agents before, I’d love to learn from your experience. Thanks in advance 🙏

MVP (Minimum Viable Product): Validate the Concept - Goal: Answer basic FAQs (hours, location) and perhaps a very simple ordering flow for a few popular items to prove the value. - Stack: Use a managed, no-code/low-code platform like Retell AI or Vapi that handles much of the complexity, allowing you to launch in days or weeks. - Focus: Iterate on the conversational logic. Use call logs to find where users get stuck or where the AI misunderstands intent, and refine your prompts Production: Scale and Reliability - Goal: Handle the majority of calls (over 90%), manage complex orders with modifiers, support multiple languages seamlessly, and integrate deeply with your POS and kitchen display systems. - Stack: This might involve moving to more robust, potentially open-source or enterprise-grade platforms (like those from Hostie AI or PolyAI) for better control over performance, latency, and compliance at scale. - Focus: Optimize performance metrics, ensure 99.9% uptime, implement robust monitoring/analytics, and build comprehensive unit tests for your conversation flows.

whenever i try doing the Initiation Data Webhook Override in 11labs and i call it it says there is an application error

@Tanner Waxman Hey Tanner, the "application error" when using an ElevenLabs Initiation Data Webhook Override is usually a configuration error on the receiving end (your server or workflow) or a mismatch in the webhook settings

I'm assuming you've already solved this, so let me stop here.
