Guidance on Obtaining a USDOT Number

Hello everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out to see if anyone has experience with registering for a USDOT number for Transportation/Medical Currier or General Freight, etc.. I’ve attempted the application on the FMCSA site several times, but I keep running into issues toward the end and can’t seem to complete the process.

I’ve tried contacting DOT directly, but I wasn’t able to get through to a live person, and the support I received didn’t resolve my problem. Years ago I was able to register for a DOT number without much trouble, so I’m not sure what I’m missing this time.

If anyone has gone through this recently and can share some guidance or tips, I would greatly appreciate it. I’ll be stepping away from the computer for the next couple of days, but I plan to return to the application on Saturday. If I don’t respond right away, please know I’ll follow up as soon as I’m back online. Going camping, need to decompress and surround myself by nature for a couple of days and come back energized to complete this task.
