Welcome to UnDesk Yourself!
This is a space for exploring movement and body awareness. Most of us spend a lot of time sitting, training in repetitive ways, or simply moving without paying much attention to what our body is doing. Over time that can show up as stiffness, aches, or a general feeling of being disconnected from how we move. Inside this community I’ll be sharing simple, repeatable movement drills focused on the hips, shoulders and spine — areas that tend to take the biggest hit from desk work and daily life. The goal isn’t just to stretch or “fix posture,” but to help you move with more awareness and feel better in your body. You’ll find a few starter programs here: • Hip Essentials • Shoulder Essentials • Spine Essentials All of these are designed to be simple and easy to repeat. What you need: • A bit of wall or floor space • Optional: yoga mat, block, or pillow I'm excited to grow this space, the resources, the community, the perspective, and the move-ability of its members! Quick check-in: Comment below with: 1. The area that feels most stiff or restricted right now (hips / shoulders / spine / other) 2. Something you’d like to improve (pain-free movement, deeper squat, better posture, etc.) -Danny

Why I made this community
Because I used to feel disconnected from myself. My body was full of irritations and pain. It took a lot of time to figure out how to change that and I want to help people who might feel the same. My name's Danny- I'm an Osteopathic Manual Therapist with over 10 years coaching private and group fitness. Before that, I was a desk worker with constant stiffness and aches. I thought a sit/stand desk, weekly massage + physio would fix everything. It didn’t :( I still felt: - Tight hips - Stiff back - Shoulder/neck tension - “Stuck” even when I trained I've realized that aches and pain isn't age or posture related- its a movement problem. What actually changed things for me was learning how to build Mobility with control > Strength through range >Better movement habits I could repeat week to week That’s what UnDesk Yourself is: simple sessions + repeatable drills that help you feel better in your body. If you’re dealing with the same “desk body” stiffness… you’re in the right place. — Danny

Flexibility vs Mobility vs Strength
I hope this video helps you understand the differences! Put your questions in the comments below! The 10 minute daily routine won’t necessarily make you more flexible, but it will help you start understanding where you’re more and less flexible, accessing for aches & pains, greasing joints, promoting circulation, stimulating the nervous system and practicing coordination. Hold any of the positions for 5 or more second at a time could encourage some more flexibility though :)

Flexibility vs Mobility vs Strength
New Shoulder Essentials added!
I had 3 people come to me after class yesterday talking about pains they walked into our class with, that went away by the end. One had persistent pain between shoulder and spine, another with pain reaching overhead and another had a click when twisting their arm. I just put up 2 of the drills we did in class that I think could have been helpful for them, so you can try it out. These two drills help with your rotator cuff, overhead reach and upper back. Tell me how your shoulders feel after trying these out! https://www.skool.com/undesk-yourself-mobility-reset-5944/classroom/e25201f1?md=311456e1e6d948e5b33400e4c257485a
