Beltane is on the way!
May 1st is the celebration that marks the halfway period between the Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice! Also known as Mayday, it is generally seen as a welcoming if the springs full swing! April showers have brought the may flowers. And now we frolic! Fertility, continuity, the joy of beginning so many planting projects, the breeding season. This was all relevant to the ancients. They didn't have a supermarket year round to buy those apples or strawberries, if they even had those fruits at all. Whatever the locale grew is mainly what they had outside of trade. And "exotic" fruit I imagine was scarce as it would have to sustain long travel intact! Thinking more deeply about the circumstance our ancestors lived with has to make us appreciate modern travel and shipping. We likely wouldn't know what a kiwi tastes like, or a guava, if we were from America or some other place they simply dont grow! And Beltane is a perfect time to celebrate our own gardens, and also that we have produce to enjoy! Foods for Beltane will be lots of fruit and salad type vegetables! Lots of juices and smoothies, dairy products. Fire cooked meats! Open fire if you can manage it, if not grilled! Also any traditional Scottish dishes like mince pies, haggis might be tough to find, but it's possible, or some savory Cock-a-leekie soup, are excellent for this! Bonfires, campfires, even candles will suffice if that is all you can manage to put some of the fire element in your celebration! Beltane is Gaelic! Wear a kilt or plaid skirt if you have it! If you're Scottish, this celebration goes back to your ancestors! Order a piece of your family clan tartan to commemorate the event! If you have any drums, bring them out and beat them! Oh yes, and bagpipes! If you can't play them, just blast them on your Audio! Clanadonia is a good recommendation! Have some ale, wine or mead! Or of course a dram of whiskey or Scotch! Or if you want to stay sober, get yourself some Birch Beer! It tastes kind of like peppermint soda! You can find Scottish family brews that are non-alcoholic like Rapscallion Soda. Try a recipe for Feragaia, or order up some Talonmore.

Heathenry vs. Paganism
The Heathen vs. Pagan Debate and how both parts of this are a whole we are misunderstanding in a big way today! I have often come across the question as to the difference between these terms. Of course, original meanings from the past don't exactly hold up in modern definitions. Pagan originated from the term Paganus which roughly translated in modern terms to a hillbilly. Yep! Lol Today we clearly have a different meaning for it. It is associated with the idea of multiple deities. Polytheism. A non-Abrahamic, nature based range of ideologies. It came about as a sort of snap back at Christianity, using a term that was meant to make people seem simple, and actually becoming something quite complex and rebellious as it ever was to the idea that any singular deity supersedes all else in the universe. Paganism is a network. People we would call Pagans back in the days before Empirical rule dominated and forced religious conversion, their worldview was so very different. Part of our group's purpose is to help people wrap their mind around an entirely different construct. To see the world through Pagan eyes. No longer just a material world of things to use that somehow were all just made for humans! Ergo all the destruction, pollution, hoarding of resources.. We humans were part of an ecosystem once. We are part of an entire natural world and lived with it. And we were essentially better for it in so many ways. But we have separated ourselves from what we really are. Even as every scientific test will tell you, every single element your body is made up of the same elements the earth itself is made of, and your body is made up entirely of cells the same way everything else on this earth is, we still somehow keep thinking we aren't a part of it. And that is the detrimental part of a theological worldview that somehow makes humans more important than that. We have to rethink about what we are doing with our time here on this earth if we want to really solve some fundamental problems in ourselves. Much of today's misery and stress is because we are so very out of sync with nature. Some even fear it! And this is where we find the difference between what Paganism is and what Heahtenry is. Because heathens want to live fully off the land as their ancestors did. In nature and with nature. Fully immersed. Homesteading and farming and not relying on government constructs to live.

Welcome!
Thank you ladies for joining me! Feel free whenever you like to introduce yourself here and let us know what you hope to gain from this community! This will help us to start right away building a community that does what it is meant to do! Bring us together in knowledge, in nature and on a journey toward understanding the path that has presented itself before us in a world where this seems quite taboo. I love to share my knowledge, I can offer spiritual insights such as dream interpretation, vision and divination, I can help explore your ancestry and mythologies behind them, and we will all learn more and more because questions will come I still don't yet have the answers to but the joy is in the learning as I go as well! I'm so excited to begin!
Magic is in your blood!
Wherever on this goddess of a planet you are from, you come from all that she is. You are the product of everything you have consumed. The earth is the host of our bounty. Everything we eat comes from it. We are what we eat, and this is true. In ancient times, people didn't get imports from distant places, they didn't even really get much outside their own locality and gardens. It was all natural, all the time! And it was a labor of love, every harvest, every sacrifice, every hunt, every foraged food or medicinal element. Our ancestors returned to that same earth, generation after generation, replenishing the soil, giving back what was borrowed. We are a cycle of life like everything else. We are part of that cycle, with everything else. And to make humanity out to be more than ultimately an animal with advanced cognitive functions, it's grasping at what simply isn't. But that is the flesh. What makes humans unique isn't the flesh, the brain or the intellect. It is the spirit! Humans live in both the negative and positive fields of energetic balance. We shift in and out of them. And we are aware of it consciously. To feel the pull of a bad idea, or the deep desire to make something right. The fields of energy are always shifting around us. And we around them. Like a dance. Our spiritual being is what makes us do this. We simply cannot wholey be one or the other. Even the darkest darkness has a pinhole of light. Our connection with the universe, the spiritual realm, and the earth are simply undeniable. But most don't really know anything about it. Some, however, have experiences that secure a sense of certainty in the belief that there is a somewhere else. And this seems to be rapidly growing despite a parallel growth in scientific study! In truth, much of science serves to prove the spiritual rather than debunk it!
