Why would I read a 100-year old book?
This is a totally valid question, especially in a world where there's "new" everything all the time at a pace you could never keep up with... plus all the trends...
Yet, I keep going back to 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦, 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘸𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘯 1925.
Actually, that's probably why. It's not trendy, it's just 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗺𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲.
In The Game of Life and How to Play It, Florence Scovel Shinn was writing about spiritual laws, ideas that hold strong regardless of "what's trending."
And when you hear what she teaches, you'll probably think, "but that's so simple, I already knew that."
And you probably do.
𝗕𝘂𝘁, 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁?
Do you actually do what you know?
I found myself needing to "dip in" to this book again and again as a reminder of the simple things I already know, so that I could truly incorporate these principles into my daily life.
That's why we run 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 in the Living the Game of Life community, to remind ourselves of these spiritual laws and to keep practicing them even when life gets messy.
We're reading together right now!
