This didn’t just come out of nowhere poof… this has been building for a long time…

Watching everything online lately… all the opinions, all the noise, all the “who’s right, who’s wrong” stuff…

and I caught myself thinking (standard Mimi brain, overthinking on a scooter somewhere probs like)…

hold on a minute…

Everyone has a STYLE.

Like a real way they show up.

And that style will ALWAYS land for some people… and rub others up the wrong way.

That part isn’t the problem

The problem is what people do next.

Because instead of owning it…

they often start adjusting

softening

second guessing

trying to sound “right”

…and that’s where it all goes a bit meh-ish

So here is my example..

Not “how should I sound”Not “what performs”

But…

What is MY actual style… the REAL version… the one that comes out when I’m just typing with my clunky ass fingers, mid thought, no filter… not trying to get it right…

And instead of overcomplicating it (which I could have done, hello overthinking)… I just wrote it out.

✌️ MY STYLE (THE REAL VERSION… NOT THE PRETTY TIED IN A PINK BOW ONE) 🎀

• I think OUT LOUD… loops, tangents, questioning myself mid sentence, made up words, typos,… not neat… never has been tbf… but it’s REAL, me Mimi

• I care more about CONNECTION than sounding clever af… I want someone to FEEL something… not just read it and scroll, YAWNING

• I say the things people are already thinking but haven’t said yet… the slightly uncomfortable, “oh fck that’s me” stuff… that’s where the shift is (ooofff this took its time come out but once it pooped it WOOPED) IYKYK

• I lead HUMAN first… strategy second… the strategy is there… it’s just not dressed up in step 1, step 2, 3 step 4 neat boxes in boxes 📦

• I’m not here to sound like everyone else… I’m here to SOUND LIKE ME MIMI… DUH even if it’s messy, clunky, not textbook… cool

✌️ WHERE I WOOP + WIN (THIS IS WHY IT WORKS)

• I make people feel SEEN… proper like… not surface level stuff… the “oh shit she gets it” kind HUMAN

• I create CONVERSATION… actual juicy convos… not just likes… humans being humans online (wild and epic shizzle)

• I give permission to drop the mask… because I’m not pretending either, like it or lump it basically

• I take deep stuff and land it into something usable… not just “nice post”… but “I can actually DO something with this” EPIC AF

✌️ WHERE I TRIGGER (AND THIS IS WHERE MANY PEEPS BACK OFF… I DON’T)

• I’m not neat, not straight line malarky, not step-by-step… and some people NEED that… cool story bro… we’re not each other’s people then

• It can feel “all over the place” if you love structure… if you want textbook… I/this ain’t it

• I will say the thing… not harsh… but not avoided either… truth over comfort 4eva (to myself included)

• I don’t hand everything to you in a tidy formula straight away… so if you want plug-and-play… yeah… you might get frustrated (even though yes… I DO have frameworks… hi S.P.I.N.E)

And here’s the big bit, if I tried to “fix” the trigger parts… make it neater, andrex loo roll super soft, more structured XYZ, more palatable

I wouldn’t improve it…

I’d remove the EXACT thing that makes it work.

The SAME thing that makes someone go “this is a bit messy”

is the thing that makes someone else go “finally… someone who sounds REAL”

…and actually stay. (The number one thing I get about my content, my connection, my work, results, is the realness)

THIS is where so many people are getting it twisted.

It’s off because you’re sanding down the very parts that would make it LAND...

Trying not to trigger

Trying to sound right

Trying to be liked

And in doing that… you remove the ONE thing that would make someone stop and listen.

BORING… (and look YES I get my style might not be what you want, and thats exactly my point)

And I’m just gonna say it straight…

If your content doesn’t risk putting some people off…

it’s probably not strong enough to pull the right people in.
