Winning at a Competition Social Event

We’re having a 4 day competition here in Lombok at the moment.

Mainly younger players in the competition but I am playing in the Mixed Doubles Open on Sunday.

Last night there was a social event at a coffee shop and I decided to go to welcome the players from other Indonesian islands who have travelled overnight by ferry to join the competition (despite my Indonesian not yet good enough to be conversational, I just battled along and the kind Indonesian people allow me to make all the grammar mistakes but they indulge me by trying to understand what I say! 😁)

They had a lucky draw (what they call a “door prize” here) and I won a paddle!
