Giving doesn’t just help people. It connects them.
Giving has a quiet kind of power.
When we give - our time, our attention, our resources, our care - something bigger than the moment is created. We’re reminded that we belong to each other.
Science backs this up. Acts of giving increase oxytocin, sometimes called the “bonding hormone.” It helps us feel connected, safe, and part of something larger than ourselves. That’s why giving often feels so good - not because it’s selfish, but because it’s relational.
Giving builds trust.
Giving builds bridges.
Giving builds community.
And it doesn’t have to be grand.
A meal shared.
A message sent.
A neighbor helped.
A cause supported.
A presence offered.
Joy grows when it moves outward and communities grow stronger when people choose to give together.
Today’s Joy Prompt:
How are you giving right now or how would you like to give?
