Don’t save up joy
like you’re trying to retire on it.
Give it away
like you’re made of it.
So many of us treat joy like a limited resource.
Something to ration.
Something to protect.
Something we’ll fully enjoy later - when things calm down, when life feels lighter, when the timing is right.
But joy doesn’t work like that.
Joy grows when it moves.
It multiplies when it’s shared.
And it changes rooms, relationships, and moments the instant we decide to give it away.
Joy doesn’t require a big gesture.
It shows up in the ordinary, everyday moments we often rush past:
A sincere thank you.
A compliment spoken out loud.
A laugh shared without checking the clock.
A pause to really listen.
As this year closes, let joy be active - not stored away.
Let it be generous.
Let it be used.
Today’s Joy Prompt:
What’s one intentional way you can give joy away today before the year turns?
Give it freely.
You’re not running out.
You’re made of it. 💛✨
