The prison of the mind
The worst prison in the world has no guards.
- No bars.
- No walls.
- No chains.
It lives in your mind.
Built brick by brick from fear.
Mortared by doubt.
Reinforced by excuses.
This prison kills more dreams than poverty.
It destroys more potential than failure.
It holds more entrepreneurs hostage than the economy ever will.
Here is the hard truth.
Most people prefer the prison they know
over the freedom they fear.
Because freedom demands responsibility.
Responsibility demands ownership.
Ownership demands action.
And action destroys excuses.
Entrepreneurs blame the market.
They blame their upbringing.
They blame time.
They blame money.
They blame people who will never think about them again.
But the real enemy is not out there.
It is in here.
- Your thoughts.
- Your story.
- Your belief about who you are and what you deserve.
Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in a physical prison.
Yet he said
- They could take my freedom but not my mind.
- They could chain my body but not my spirit.
- That is why he walked out a free man long before the gates were ever opened.
The opposite is also true.
You can be free in the world and still be a prisoner in your head.
Self-doubt is a cell.
Fear is a cage.
Limiting beliefs are handcuffs disguised as logic.
The key has always been within reach.
Responsibility.
Break it down.
Response able.
You are able to choose your response to anything life throws at you.
Until you accept that truth you will stay stuck.
Trapped by the same thoughts.
Living the same year again and again and calling it progress.
I know this because I lived it.
When I was younger my mentor said
Mike, you will become a millionaire the day you decide to become a millionaire.
- I hated that sentence.
- I blamed circumstance.
- I blamed lack of resources.
- I blamed timing.
Then I realised he was right.
The prison was never around me.
It was inside me.
And the moment I changed my mind I changed my life.
So here is the question for you.
"When will you stop defending your limitations and start building your freedom"
When will you accept that your life is not set by your past
but by your decisions
When will you unlock the prison you built
Nobody else is coming.
Nobody else holds the key.
Nobody else can think for you.
The only person who can set you free
is you.
When will you decide
