🌿 Welcome to The Yoga Revolution 🌿
Namaste, and welcome. I am deeply honored to be launching this online course with you. The Yoga Revolution is the culmination of nearly two decades of teaching a therapeutic, somatic approach to Hatha Yoga that I’ve been offering in person since 2006. Over the years, I’ve witnessed profound shifts as students repattern their relationship with their bodies, breath, and inner lives—not by striving or forcing, but by remembering innate, natural intelligence through mindful movement, breathwork, meditation, and rest. You may notice that the course content is just beginning to appear. This is intentional. I will be sharing one class each week, beginning today with an Introduction Class video, allowing the material to unfold slowly, organically, and with integration. 🌱 Please introduce yourself below I’d love to know: - Where you’re joining from - What you’re hoping to revolutionize in your yoga practice or inner life - Your experience with yoga (new or long-time practitioner) - Any injuries, physical considerations, or intentions you’d like me to be aware of This course includes movement repatterning, postural realignment, embodied anatomy, breathwork, meditation, and guided relaxation, and is designed to support you in creating—or recreating—a personal, therapeutic, self-care yoga practice. As we enter the warmest time of year, this is a powerful time for a loving, somatic revolution—one that prepares the ground for renewal, emergence, and new growth in the months ahead. I’m so glad you’re here. ✨
First Step: Agreements
At the beginning of each class, workshop, or course I teach, the first step is to establish a short list of mutual agreements. After you have read the short list, please comment below to indicate that you agree. 1)You are the boss of you. I ask that you remain loyal to your inner perceptions over my instructions, any Yoga method, or preconceived ideas about how you may think or idealize that any movement or position “should” look. If it is difficult to breathe easily, or if you have a signal of pain or the beginning of what could become pain in your body, while trying a movement, practice, or position that I offer you, I ask that you agree not to do what is instructed, and do what your body is asking you for, instead. 2) Once you have committed to attend the Yoga Revolution program, I ask that you agree to show up to and complete each class. This will help you receive the benefit of what you intend to learn or achieve by attending the class, and your presence in the course is a valuable contribution of energy to the community. By showing up and supporting yourself, you are supporting everyone on this journey. 3) If you are attending a Zoom class online, I ask that you show up to the class on time, or preferably 5-15 minutes early, taking a moment to sit or lie down quietly and settle before class begins. If you are going to be late, that happens, just email or message me prior to class starting to let me know. 4) When conversing within the community, I ask that you agree to practice friendliness, non-harming, or compassion when interacting with yourself, internally during your learning experience, and when commenting and sharing with others. 5) Please reach out with questions, feedback, or requests that would help your learning experience. Yoga Renewal beginning May 18th!
Spring has Sprung and Summertime is on the way! I am preparing to begin a new Yoga Revolution cohort, here on this platform for the first time! Monday, May 18th, 6:30- 7:30pm, is class one of the 9 class series. This class will be live online with one student so far, and is currently open for more students to join. Because this is my first time recording classes for this online platform, I will discover as I go along, if posting the recording of the class here is the best option, or if recording a separate class would be best. Whether you are joining our cohort in the live, online zoom classes, or watching the recorded classes that are posted here, I will be posting the handouts, pictures, resource links, and class sequences for home practice, here in this Skool classroom. The first class will be “Introduction to Yoga”. Follow-up resources for that class will be listed in the class post, or in the comments below the class post. Please use the comments section, and/or message me directly with your experience/reflections after the class, and questions that you have, and to get to know and share with your fellow cohort students. Community is an aspect of yoga, as you will see in the Introduction class. Your comments and exchanges with each other are welcomed and encouraged.
