When we are out of rapport we get arguments, we get disconnection, we get roadblocks.
When we are in rapport we get respect, consideration (even in disagreement), connection, opportunities, and new ways forward.
Sometimes building rapport helps you reset your own overthinking brain.
It takes you out of your head and allows space to consider an others perspective.
This is the very first skill I was taught in coaching, and we tend to forget the power of this simple idea.
Build rapport first before any change work. Same applies if you are selling to clients, or are dealing in negotiations with new customers, or indeed with your hardest deals with your kids, wife or husband.
What is 1 relationship you would like to improve?
When if you lead the rapport building using these skills it will help all parties and create more opportunity?
