Summer Garden
We're deep into summer here in The US South and the gardens are in full swing! I'd love to see pictures of your garden and something new you learned this season. I learned that I can be victorious over the squash bugs.

Let The Beet Drop
Just got home from hiking a portion of the Appalachian Trail to find my second round of beets coming in! I’m so excited.

Seed Saving Saves Money
I've been cutting back my (mostly) herb garden and drying stalks for seed saving. Today I jarred up dill, onion, bee balm, sea holly, and batchelor's buttons. It really helps save money when planning for the spring planting season. If you save seeds or plan to, what will you save?
Time for Tea!
I made some sun tea today with basil, oregano, mint, lemon balm, and lemon verbena. Simply cut herbs, stem and all, rinse them, put in jars halfway full then fill with water. Leave them in the sun at least 2 - 4 hours. (Longer if you want it stronger.) Strain them and add a little honey if you like. They're so refreshing and have several medicinal benefits. It's a simple, yummy tea!

Here's to being outdoors to garden, build, hike, and kayak. Then back inside to cook and bake with what we've grown! Heal inside by working outside!
