✨ This has been another interesting week for me, as I feel like my voice — and the sound of my voice — is finally beginning to open. I keep being reminded of what I mentioned last week: if you don’t use your voice, you begin to lose your ability to use it.
✨ Aside from being intentional with the practices, I found myself naturally wanting to tone in a more musical way. This has been such a sweet and surprising shift for me — and the fact that I’ve actually been able to do this feels really encouraging.
✨ While I practiced all of the techniques from last week, I found myself gravitating more toward the toning exercises — especially the Siren Frequency Sweep and Singing with Scales. I’ve definitely noticed an improvement in my vocal range, though I still feel most comfortable in the lower ranges.
✨ I also continued incorporating the stretching, facial massage, and warm-up exercises. My intention has been to build these into daily habits, and I’m beginning to notice that I’m doing them more naturally throughout the day without having to think about it — which feels like progress. It’s working! 🤗
✨ I also want to reiterate my appreciation for Kalee’s decision to break this pilot course into two separate levels. I’m finding it so valuable to have the time and space to truly practice and integrate the techniques. Slowing this down feels very supportive.
🎶 My Practice Experiences
✨ Toning Exercise – The Siren Frequency Sweep: I practiced both freely with sound and by trying to find the natural resonance of different rooms in my home. It was really fascinating to land on tones that felt in alignment with the space. The more I practiced this, the more I found myself wanting to continue — it became very engaging and intuitive.
✨ Toning Exercise – Singing with Scales: For this practice, I used my piano to support pitch and worked within the 3rd and 4th octaves — primarily A3, B3, C4, D4, and E4. I mostly sang using an “Ah” sound, but also incorporated humming along the same scale. This practice felt incredibly good — I truly did not want to stop. I also became more aware of the mechanics of my throat and how my mouth shapes and adjusts during the process. After these practices, I experienced an emotional shift that felt almost angelic in nature — very light, open, and elevated.
✨ Sit and Sound Practice – Left Ankle: I’ve been experiencing some discomfort in my ankle this week, so I chose to focus my Sit and Sound practice there. What I experienced was surprising — the sound that emerged was very deep and felt almost like it was expressing something that had been hurt or held for a long time. It was really wild! I initially expected the tone to be higher, but it was the complete opposite. It’s difficult to fully explain, but it felt as though my awareness connected deeply with my ankle — almost as if 'it' was expressing itself, rather than me consciously producing the sound. It was a powerful experience… and notably, my ankle is feeling much better.
✨ Humming Practice (Week 2 Throat Chakra Activation): I returned to Kalee’s Week 2 humming practice, and it continues to be incredibly calming and grounding. This is a practice I feel I could easily stay in for an extended period of time. Using the shorter video helped me stay consistent without feeling like it required a large time commitment. My body, mind, and spirit all seem to gravitate toward this practice — it feels the most natural and supportive for me.
✨ Final Reflection: Overall, this week felt like a turning point in my relationship with my voice — moving from simply practicing into beginning to experience it in a more intuitive, connected, and even musical way. 🤗
