Squash/Seed Saving
My squash was a huge success this year! My 2 plants put out a lot of fruit and this baby I kept for seeds. I did have an issue with powdery mildew but chopped off the affected stems and fed them to my worms, they really enjoyed the leaves. Then the plants just powered on 💪 Who here likes squash?

Last day of 2025 + wanna be chicken…
Garden is still producing but lawns really need to be sorted. Got the compost to go on top of the hay bale experiment today - still a little smelly but neighbours aren’t complaining so that’s a win. Corn, snake beans and chillies are all looking good. So are the lettuce beds in the shaded area near the chicken run. That determinate tomato is putting out the last of its fruit but been a good haul with only ~25% going to fruit fly. Had a baby bush turkey find his way into the chicken run. Girls were not too happy about it. We’ve now go three or four young bush turkeys calling this part of the neighbourhood home. According to the RSPCA adult BT have no paternal instincts so they young are on their own from hatching. I just shooed him into the main garden and he happily wandered off to find some cover and snacks….

Tomato Troubles
Hi all, tomato's are usually a go to crop at my place and this summer is no different, infect I went overboard and have tomato's everywhere, but there is one that is perplexing me , I think its a Grammys throwing tomato, (the labels all blew away so i could be wrong) that I put in a old half while barrel pot that was set up for my blueberry that unfortunately didn't come back after re potting , it just hasn't grown, the ones in the bed nonboring it that were planted at the same time seem fine, could it have something to do with the Rose mix that was put I put in the post for the blueberry? as the other beds were prepared for tomato's at the start of the season shall i try it somewhere else? any advice would be appreciated
