Staking and pruning tomatoes..
What are everyone's thoughts on the best way to stake and prune tomatoes ? I get the feeling that some you tube videos are a bit gimmicky, in regard to single stem vines growing 10 feet tall and needing a small scissor lift to harvest? Maybe double leaders perhaps? Also I've cut some great sturdy 6-8ft bamboo stakes.. Just wondering how close to push them into the plant.. probably just beside the current root ball ??? This is my first real effort trying hard.. my first attempt sprawled all over the ground, had the wettest summer on record then got hammered by Cyclone Gabrielle.. My soil is so dead, not a worm to be found, but I refuse to use chemical fertilisers.. I'm going to top dress with an organic fertiliser and some more decent compost soon..

@Kayleen West I am sure the wife will indulge them to bathe in a daiquiri or something at some point
A bit cooler today
It’s going to be a little cooler today in subtropical Queensland with a forecast of 29 degrees. So hopefully I can get a bit more gardening done ✅

LIFESTYLE SHIFT AND MY OLD MARTYS GARDEN UTE!
A few drone shots, some time lapses mixed into some great stories and I am back on my feet. Looks like the audience is okay with the lifestyle shift content. This video picked up 5 subs and brought a few new members across to the Hub. Currently I am researching how to film from my car, set up the Martys Garden Ute as a run and gun film production unit and still be able to use it for work, such as pick up Mushroom compost and mulches. Now, that's a tricky one! I cant afford a Van, that would be perfect for what I want to do. So, any ideas on a ute conversion would be awesome. The tricky part is it needs to do two jobs and switch from a run and gun film production camper back to a work truck,,hmmmm Any ideas would be so helpful Thanks Marty

I might be able to help you with some of that mate leave it with me and we will talk a see what we can come up with. Old Bert here is the run all over the farm and still get out into the wilds with a top camper. Top can be removed in 5mins and it’s just a Ute. Can still use the tray for most things even with it on.
