A bit cooler today
It’s going to be a little cooler today in subtropical Queensland with a forecast of 29 degrees. So hopefully I can get a bit more gardening done ✅

Lovely day to get out there. I plan to get out a bit later. Maybe after 4 in the cooler hours. Plenty to do.

@Leon Raucci yes its 30 now here and not too bad. My daughters sleeping after night duty. She's a nurse and she likes the aircon on when sleeping in the day so I'm making the most of the aircon today.

@Sharon Miller oh that makes sense. We get turkeys destroying stuff and I often put sticks and rocks around to deter them from scratching my garden away. Thus my assumption. I hope your plants are all growing well. In our community garden we have a problem with rats eating corn. We picked it earlier than planned because everytime we wait the rats get there first. So it was a little small but very delicious. I love using corn raw in salads. Its so sweet.

@Sharon Miller what a great little cat. Wish my dog would take on that role.

Your garden has such a calming feel to it with the chicken sounds and you have some interesting things growing. Thankyou for sharing it.

Here is the intro to my new video series, living an alternate self-sufficient lifestyle in Mullumbimby, Australia, on the Northern Rivers of NSW, Australia. I wanted you all to see it first, as a way of saying thank you for all your support! Happy Gardening Marty

Love it. Totally makes sense.
Big Beryl tomatoes and coffee trees
I brought some coffee trees 🌳 And the older gentleman was a nice guy and gave me 2 big beryl tomato plants that he has been growing for many years. He is a retired horticulturalist with thousands of established fruit trees growing on his property a lot are over 40 years old. Not something you see everyday that’s for sure.

Sounds like it was a interesting trip to get these trees. I had a neighbour back in the 90s who was from PNG. She had all sorts of different trees and foods she'd grow in her garden and told me not to ask where she got her plants from. She had coffee trees along our fence line. At that point id never seen a coffee tree before and was fascinated by the shiny leaves and the little berries. They were beautiful.
