Saturday morning
Just giving the gardens an extra water cause we’ve got days of plus 30 degrees coming. Good haul of cucumbers with more still to come. I’ve left a couple to go too long so now I’m just using them as a treat for the chickens. Sliced in half they absolutely love it. Going to try an Asian cucumber salad with the human haul. These six Cos have kept us in so much salad and they’re still going strong. Had two salads from the garden last night for dinner so that’s a good feeling. Little patch of yellow beans behind is still offering enough for a couple of salads a week - waiting for the climbing beans to get bigger and take over that roll.

Water
After my conversation with @Steve Thomas I thought it Was a good conversation point. to see how everyone is dealing with water supply to growing there garden during the rising summer temperatures. From town water irrigation to dam , bore or ground water harvesting. Everyone please let us all know how you’re watering your plants. 🌱 I’ve attached a short video of my watering harvesting in action from my last decent rain as it enters the swale system. Please show me what you have in place. 🤷‍♂️

Sunflowers
My neighbour gave me a couple of varieties of sunflower seeds. She can grow them but the cockatoos and king parrots come and destroy the flower before they go to seed. I planted some through out my garden but threw some in a pot so I know the birds won't touch! As you can see they are a little leggy. Do you grow sunflowers in pots, show me some pics

Capsicum
I have never seen the different varieties capsicum have to offer. I am well aware of all the different chilli's but not capsicum. My wife brought home peperone sweet capsicum to have in our salad and absolutely loved them, she put some seeds aside and asked me to grow them, we all know when we grow them ourselves the food tastes soooo much better 🙂 So this weekend I'll be pulling up my potatos, topping up the soil in the bed and planting these new capsicum seeds. The potatos didn't do so well, I'll do up a post about them tomorrow after I have dug everything up. Pls show me your capsicums
