👋 START HERE: Welcome to The Balance Blueprint 💙
Welcome! I’m Dr. Aliah Pulaski, PT, DPT. If you found your way here, chances are you’re dealing with dizziness, imbalance, motion sensitivity, or symptoms you haven’t been able to make sense of yet. You may have already watched hours of videos, tried different exercises, seen multiple providers, or simply been wondering: “Where do I even start?” That’s exactly what we want to help you figure out. And the good news is that everything in your Start Here Assessment is completely free. STEP 1 — Start With Your Introduction Go to the Classroom → Start Here and begin with the short Introduction video. I’ll explain how this process works, what we’re looking for, and how to get the most out of your assessment. Then move through the next three classes in order. 1️⃣ Introduction Learn what we’re doing and why we always start with assessment. 2️⃣ Dizziness & Balance Assessment Complete the guided screening and record your results on your scorecard. 3️⃣ Read Your Results Use your results to better understand where you struggled and what those findings may be telling you. 4️⃣ What’s Next? Once you understand your results, we’ll show you the different paths you can take from here — including how to speak with our team if you want individualized help. STEP 2 — Introduce Yourself 👋 While you’re working through your assessment, introduce yourself below. Tell us: 1. Your name and where you’re from 2. Your diagnosis, if you have one — or how you would describe your symptoms 3. The #1 thing dizziness or imbalance is stopping you from doing 4. The one thing you would LOVE to get back to Then find one other person in the comments and give them a little encouragement. One of the biggest reasons this community exists is so people dealing with dizziness can realize: “Wow. Other people actually understand what this feels like.” STEP 3 — Decide What Kind of Help You Need After completing all four classes, you have a decision to make. For some people, the assessment, education, and this community may be exactly what they need right now.
Just Joined...4 Months Post Bike Fall (whiplash & concussion)
Hi there, I'm BJ. Just did the assessment...69/75. Mostly 3s. No 1s. I've narrowed down my symptoms to a couple of possible, or both, causes. My subocciptals, especially the right triangle, is a prime suspect. Once I release those, the dizzy sensations and the ocular tension goes away. But those muscles seem to tighten up easily. I've been doing highly targeted and specific to my case vestibular pt. The doc I'm seeing thinks it's left anterior and right posterior canals that are causing issues. I'm scheduled to do a CBCT scan in a couple of weeks to see if C1/C2 are misaligned. All in all, my symptoms are mild, but still negatively impacting my life and keeping on the sidelines for a lot of stuff. Healing has happened, is happening, and will happen. Fwiw, my symptoms arose from a mountain bike crash. About 90% of the impact was on my right shoulder, some on the hip, and I hit my head. The head hit wasn't hard, but I certainly noticed it :). No signs of concussion or vestibular or ocular issues until 5 weeks after the crash...once my shoulder was doing well and the body stopped guarding that area. I'm about 14 weeks out since the fall. Thankfully, nothing was broken.
Balance Obstacle Course
It is great to see Balance Blueprint numbers going up both here and at YouTube. It took me watching just one BB video to decide that this is the place for those of us with balance problems to be. Yesterday my own progress was put to diverse and sometimes comical challenges trying to walk up this street ... and I made it to my destination and then back home all on foot.
Leaning
Okay this seems odd. I no longer fee dizzy. Just unbalanced. Like I’m leaning to one side. Anyone have any clues how to get rid of this,?
Balance
And now it seems more like balance than vertigo or dizziness. I can stand and walk indefinitely, just imbLanced
