From zero dev experience → built a full app with AI in a few months
Hey everyone 👋
Been lurking a bit and thought I’d finally introduce myself properly.
A few months ago I had zero dev experience — no coding background at all.
Started messing around with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) just trying to automate small things…
and it kind of snowballed.
Fast forward to now: I’ve built a full working app called HireHub Australia — a peer-to-peer vehicle rental platform (similar idea to Airbnb but for cars, trailers, etc.)
Still in soft launch/testing mode, but:
- booking flow works
- payments integrated
- user verification system
- pre/post hire inspections
- admin dashboard
Honestly didn’t think I’d get this far 😅
Biggest thing I’ve learned so far: 👉 AI is insanely powerful… but only if you guide it properly
If you just let it run everything, it can go sideways real quick
