"In a war of egos, the loser always wins. - Buddha"
Life as a couple is undoubtedly a great challenge. When two people are in love, arguments seem inevitable, and the reason is simple: love makes feelings run high. Sometimes, we are even harsher in our judgments and find it more difficult to forgive the person we love most in the world than a friend or a stranger. The essential thing is that, even if there are fights, the boundaries of respect should never be crossed, and we must find the inner strength to forgive and sometimes yield to maintain peace. To achieve this, it’s important to act from the heart and not from the ego.

“Break the circle"
Many of us come from difficult childhoods where we were not allowed to grow in an environment of love and harmony, leading, in some cases, to deep wounds and traumas. But the strength to heal them and break the circle is within us. We must reflect on everything that hurt us and prevent our children from going through the same; if pain and trauma can be inherited, so can forgiveness and healing. Having grown up in a hell does not grant anyone the right to condemn their family to one.

“If they see you fighting, let them see you reconcile”
In my latest appearance on the show “Café con Canela,” we reflected on the importance of maintaining a happy environment at home for our children to thrive. Although this might seem contradictory, it is normal for parents to argue sometimes, and it can be a sign of a healthy marriage, as long as respect is not lost and there is no violence of any kind. It is a reality that people who love each other sometimes fight. While it is preferable not to do so in front of the children, it is not the end of the world when it happens, provided they also have the opportunity to see how mom and dad resolve their differences and reconcile. This will bring great benefits to the children, as they will learn how to handle such situations in the future and understand that romantic love has many complexities that are not reflected in movies and love stories. https://www.canela.tv/player/tvepisode/tu-ex-quiere-lastimarte-1

Poll: Fidelity is a choice.
The increase in cases of infidelity that are destroying families is alarming. While the previous trend was more heavily skewed towards men, recent statistics indicate that more and more women are falling into the same practices, and that beyond a gender issue, infidelity is a matter of values. I believe that both fidelity and infidelity are choices, and for a person to be faithful, they first have to make the decision and have the conviction to do so. It is also important not to fall into any situation that could open the door to potential infidelity, such as flirting, inappropriate comments, or messages. That said, only a fulfilled person can make that decision; the number one reason for infidelity is not temptation, but insecurity and lack of self-esteem.

The secret to a good marriage: a date a week.
Many experts agree on the importance of setting aside time exclusively for the couple, which will strengthen the loving bond that sometimes gets overlooked with the arrival of kids and the different activities of each day. It's important that at least once a week, or at least every 15 days, you dedicate some time to enjoy each other. This could be a romantic dinner, a walk, a trip to the movies, or any other similar activity.
