Podcast episode: guest is white, queer, nonbinary, and autistic - and eloquent
I thought my current episode of my podcast, Stories We Haven't Shared, might be of interest to this group. While the podcast covers a wide spectrum of underrepresented guests, this one is with Felix Sutherland (they/them), who is white, queer, nonbinary, and autistic. Felix is extremely eloquent about complex, deeply-personal topics -- offering an eye-opening window into their lived personal and professional experiences. They share stories of self-recognition around identity and neurodivergence. The conversation explores allyship, masking, workplace safety, and the emotional labor required to navigate systems not designed with them in mind. They reflect on how overcompensating through perfectionism and overachievement leads to deep exhaustion, and how cultivating self-trust supports a shift toward work that is aligned, joyful, and sustainable. MURDER in Glitter Ball City.
Just over FOUR YEARS AGO I interviewed David Dominé about his book, 'A Dark Room in Glitter Ball City'. The local Louisville gay scene and characters figure prominently in the story. Stay tuned for big news from David and HBO. In the meantime, watch his interview: https://youtu.be/A7CDRKZR PS- This book inspired my disco ball obsession. Or, at the very least, added fuel to the fire. #ilovegaybars #GayBarchives #gayKY
