Pointing and Hoping
Yesterday I was on a boat going down the river and tried to take a photo.
I couldn’t really see what the camera was showing, so I just pointed it in roughly the right direction and hoped for the best.
The result?
I got something.
But it wasn’t clear. The strap was in the way.
We were fuzzy.
The moment was there, but the photo didn’t show it properly and it’s not really useful for anything other than a learning point for today.
And it made me think about how often we do this in business.
We point ourselves in roughly the right direction.
We hope people understand what we mean.
We hope the message is clear.
We hope the effort turns into something useful.
But if we never stop to check what we’re actually focused on, we shouldn’t be surprised when the results feel a bit blurred.
Today’s POWERUP: taking action is important but knowing your direction helps and having clarity makes all the difference to the outcome.
