Q&A Featuring Aaron N. Hall is happening in 4 days
Hello....Waving👋
I’m excited to be here and to learn from so many fabulous people. This past weekend I watched Project Hail Mary, and I was literally blown away. It is so encouraging to see a book adapted so well for the big screen. I mean, I’m now out here searching for my own Rocky to put on my desk. If you haven’t seen it, you need to go. Amaze, amaze, amaze.
Friends, Romans, Countrymen
I'm Angela, an on-again-off-again writer with a fantasy/magical realism bent. I also work as a book editor and memoir ghostwriter, so recently I've been focused more on other people's words than my own (I know—excuses, excuses). When I'm not absorbed in Merriam-Webster or Chicago Manual of Style, my other office is a boat on the river, where I'm either coaching a rowing team or rowing myself. I've published a bit in poetry and shortform narrative nonfiction, but I'm still hoping to finish one of the novel-length WIPs in my folder someday soon, even if it never sees a bookshelf! Looking forward to learning and writing with all of you. Always happy to nerd out about books, focaccia, and anything linguistics 😎
Kidlit Author
Hey all! Happy to be here and to introduce myself. I've been zeroed in on a writing career for the past 13 years, learning my craft and creating a hoard of pre-published (read pre-famous) manuscripts. I write Kidlit, mainly Picture Books, but I have recently published my debut Middle Grade fantasy adventure novel, MAGIC MURAL! I write as JC Youngstrom and am getting into the nitty gritties of illustrating a picture book so I can get more of my work out into the world. I'm learning so much, which is why I write. Thanks for being here! Anyone else out there a Kidlit author?
LIVE Writing Sprints on Twitch to finish my novel!
Hello All, Happy to be here and get connected with you. I've been putting off finishing my first novel for years, using the "busy"ness of writing for the game industry as my excuse. But NO longer! I'm wrapping up a few game projects in the coming months and have officially started a Twitch channel in order to host LIVE Writing Sprints. I figure it'll be harder to "put the thing off" if I have all the world watching me do it! On top of that, I find that many writers enjoy "co-working" or "body-doubling". I've been doing this in my Discord channel successfully since the beginning of the year, and I thought I'd take this to a wider audience who might enjoy working on their novel alongside me! I'm using the coming months to wrap up my game projects on stream, but by September, I'll be live-streaming the novel project. If you're interested in following along on my journey, or using my stream to body-double, you can find it here: https://www.twitch.tv/perty_nerdy
