What took me so long?
More than twenty years to finally finish my first book. Aiming for 18 months for number two!

That’s the way it works sometimes. But there is some reality to that. So much learning and so many mistakes first round. It should take a while. And I totally believe in you. You can do 18 months. Make it happen
Here is a list of things that are not doing the thing:
ā€œPreparing to do the thing isn't doing the thing. Scheduling time to do the thing isn't doing the thing. Making a to-do list for the thing isn't doing the thing. Telling people you're going to do the thing isn't doing the thing. Messaging friends who may or may not be doing the thing isn't doing the thing. Writing a banger tweet about how you're going to do the thing isn't doing the thing. Hating on yourself for not doing the thing isn't doing the thing. Hating on other people who have done the thing isn't doing the thing. Hating on the obstacles in the way of doing the thing isn't doing the thing. Fantasizing about all of the adoration you'll receive once you do the thing isn't doing the thing. Reading about how to do the thing isn't doing the thing. Reading about how other people did the thing isn't doing the thing. Reading this essay isn't doing the thing. The only thing that is doing the thing is doing the thing.ā€ — Strangest Loop I don't know about you guys, but when I feel like I'm "failing," I often find through self-reflection that I am doing something on this list other than doing the thing. Anyone else?

Umm, me. I’ve very good at planning šŸ˜‚ I was just in a film making class last night and she said ā€œstep one is pick a film date. Not figure out what you’re going to film, who is going to help you, or where you’re going to do this. Make a date and work towards that date.ā€

Okay I’m a big nerd and find quotes really inspiring and helpful. So if this is for you too, awesome. If not, skip šŸ˜… ā€œThis is a game of tenacity that can’t break you if you don’t give up.ā€ -Jennifer Nielsen
