Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was on YouTube and saw the short you just posted about AI books. I was searching for an opening for my Presence chapter, and your video sparked a flow of ideas. I don't know if this is appropriate, but here's my intro inspired by your short: Lately, there’s been growing anxiety about AI taking over our lives. A fear that machines will soon be making decisions for us and controlling everything we think and do. But here’s the truth, a machine is already doing that, and has been every day of our lives.
No, I’m not talking about the computer from the Matrix movies, I’m talking about something that we’re born with. According to cognitive researchers, up to 95% of our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are driven by the subconscious mind—an invisible operating system formed from habits, memories, and identity.
(centered and bolded) It may not seem like it, but most of the time
we’re not consciously choosing what we think, feel, say, or do.
We’re running on autopilot and don’t even realize it. While we think we’re in control of our lives, we’re really just reacting to and repeating old patterns.
That’s why presence isn’t just important, it’s essential if we want to change, grow, and achieve the goals we set for ourselves. Presence puts us back in the driver’s seat.
