BURNING IN EDITING HELL!
Having No Guidance when I began writing my book, I dove into Google Docs and ended up with over 800 pages, with hundreds of Pictures throughout the manuscript. (It is now split into 2 books and I am working with the first.) But...as I went along and Learned more, I realized that I had created a Monster, because Now I have Converted it into several other formats in order to FIX The Mistakes! And I have Failed! I tried PDF and that was useless. Made it into a DOCX file and tried to use Autocrit...then a ODT file and Reedsy is just a Mess! Everything "looks" okay on Google Docs, but when it is saved as anything else it is Horrible and I Can't Fix it in Any format! Now what?!

@Rob Cole This is what I was going to say - great advice. Bruce, it sounds like you have to strip the file naked so you can work with it. It's why we don't recommend authors use Google Docs ... when we go to design the files we have to strip all the formatting off of it in order to get it to a state that we can use to then design it from. Basically it does mean taking out the pictures and taking out all formatting but you'll be in a much better situation than you are in now. I am sorry - tech troubles are SO frustrating.
Reader Nation 2026
Who else am I going to see at Reader Nation in November? @Kevin Hall I know it's on your list! VIP early bird tickets went on sale this morning and I snagged mine as well as hotel! Tickets go on sale publically in a week! See you there...? :)

I will be at Author Nation but don't think I'll be doing Reader Nation this time :)
Non Fiction book sizes
Before I start formatting my book, what is a common/most popular size for a non fiction book? The book is 14 chapters long and will have a number of images in it. The subject matter is creating sacred spaces for meditation and relaxation from a mental health perspective.
