It’s a simple question bro, but most people don’t really know the answer to it.
They’ll say, “I wanna be rich. I wanna achieve my goals. I wanna get jacked.” But honestly, all of that is just shit that society told them. It’s just a definition of success that society forced upon them.
In reality, most don’t even know what keeps them going.
But I do.
Now, if you know me and have seen some of my posts, this one’s gonna be a bit different, and slightly more personal.
So let me explain with a story:
It’s a cold morning. I had just broken up with a girl I liked, so naturally, my mind was fucked. The previous day, I’d journaled for hours. Around 20 pages filled with pure rants.
But, you know me, bro. I would never quit. So this morning, I decided I needed something to fix this fucked up mental state.
Journaling wasn’t working. Meditation sucked as well. So I turned to exercise, like most people do. I converted my anger into movement, shadowboxing outside.
It felt good, but I still wasn’t 100% ready to work.
And as I stepped back inside, that’s when a visualization came across my mind — the visualization that stays with me to this day.
📌 The Visualization
I’m standing in a women’s clothing store. My mother’s choosing out dresses. My dad’s looking at the price tags. And I’m watching my mother’s smile as she goes from dress to dress.
She chooses out 5 saris (dresses) and asks how much they cost at the counter.
They tell us, “$1000”.
My mom looks at me kinda worried, and says, “I don’t need all of—”
“We’ll take all 5,” I cut her off, giving my credit card to the lady at the counter.
And then it cuts.
Bro, this one visualization runs through my head every morning, every afternoon, and every waking hour.
I don’t just wanna help my family like most people do.
No, bro. I have EVERYTHING planned out. I want this exact moment to happen. I don’t want to have to look at the price tag. I don’t want to have to hesitate to buy shit for my mother. I don’t want to live a constrained life simply because I couldn’t do the hard work when it showed up on my desk.
And that’s what motivates me: the visualization of helping my family. Not the thought, but the visualization. The actual action.
And science has proven this: visualizations & mental contrasting improve your ability to achieve your goals.
So listen bro, don’t just think about your goals. Don’t even think about your goals in general. Think about the RESULTS that they get you.
I don’t give a fuck whether I make $10,000. But I do care whether I’m able to afford whatever my mother wants. And I’ll keep working until that becomes a reality.
Visualize the result, and achieving your goals becomes 10x easier, bro.
