How to shock yourself into focus (literally)
We’ve all had those days bro.
It’s another painful Tuesday… not even halfway into the week. I’m walking home in 80 degree weather, complaining why I didn’t fill my water bottle.
And I reach home, put my bag down next to my desk, and try sitting down at my desk. But the second I sit down, the fatigue hits. I just wanna sleep.
Unfortunately, my math teacher had other plans, assigning me 30 questions due by the next day. So, while I’m sitting there struggling to solve my trig questions, my brain’s complaining about why it can’t take a nap.
Now, if only, there was something — some insanely useful tool, that could quite literally, SHOCK YOU into focus.
📌 Enter: Cold Showers
I’m sure we’ve all heard about this:
  • cold showers trigger the SNS (sympathetic nervous system)
  • release (nor)epinephrine → alertness & focus
  • increase cerebral (brain) blood flow → more nutrients to brain
  • release endorphins (natural mood elevators)
And before you say: but I already do cold showers.
Hold up, bro. You might not actually be getting the full benefits of them. Because there’s a specific method to be able to get this heightened state of productivity.
Listen, bro. You can’t just start the water off warm and slowly make it cold. That won’t work.
And you can’t just keep the water cold enough to the point where it’s slightly uncomfortable.
There’s only one way:
  1. Turn the water to the coldest setting
  2. Get in immediately.
  3. Stay for ~10 seconds to 10 minutes.
  4. Turn it off, dry yourself, and get to work as fast as possible.
Like I said bro, this is like an instant shock. In just 10 seconds, you can shock yourself into focus.
So this is what I used on those painfully hot, tiring days where I just wanna take a nap.
