Hey everyone! Just had to share this because I wish someone had told me earlier...
I spent the last 6 months trying to "push through" my vocal strain by just practicing MORE. Every time I hit a voice break around C4, I'd just try harder with more breath support. Total disaster.
My neck muscles were bulging, my throat felt squeezed, and I was getting hoarse after 20 minutes of practice. I thought this was just "building stamina" 🤦♂️
Turns out I was using my swallowing muscles (those ones under your chin) to compensate for weak vocal cord closure. Anyone else struggle with this?
What was your biggest "aha moment" when you realized you were doing something totally wrong?
