few beginner questions
hi Draven, firstly I want to thank you again for making the smoker's voice video for me way back, it finally helped me make the distortion click. I had to take a few months break and just have a few of questions to pick up where I left off: 1. getting higher fry: when combining head voice/falsetto with smoker's voice, I notice that I can't move the resonance anywhere past the middle of the soft and hard palates. when I try moving the smoker's voice forward to a twang position, the sound comes out very thin and sometimes hits the throat. is there something I'm missing? 2. low overtones: when I combine head voice/falsetto notes with the smoker's voice, I find that sometimes there's overtones of one octave down. how do I train to consistently eliminate this and achieve just the high note? (similar to Will Ramos' or Alex Koehler's highs) 3. progressing: once I'm comfortable with the base scream on different vowels and plosives, is there any recommended next step in transitioning to screaming songs? or is progression past this point just self practise and experimentation? I've also included a very short clip of my practise today, would really appreciate if you can help me see if I'm on the right track. thanks ๐Ÿ™

are my fry screams on the right track?
hi Draven, first I wanted to thank you for making that video for me back then, it really helped me progress a lot. I've been practising and playing around with new techniques for my fry screams, and am still trying to fine tune it. however I still have some doubts regarding the technique + going forward: 1. in the video you made you mentioned touching on the smoker's voice from the head voice. I wanted to clarify if this meant I should be literally doing both at once, or mainly using the smoker's voice as a tool for positioning the distortion? (im currently doing the latter) 2. I'm having trouble switching between vowel shapes. consonants are fine (practising with mahnahlah + 'power become death' plosive thing in your course) but I find that the scream either weakens or breaks in some vowels, mostly the 'ee' and 'oo' sounds. do you have any advice on how to practise this? I've attached a short clip of my fry screams, your feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks

how do I reduce this 'grinding' noise in my scream?
hi guys, been learning screaming for about a week now and having some trouble. I'm practising my foundation for fry scream (via witch's cackle > light fry > old man grunt), but every scream I do there's this constant, monotone 'grinding' noise, despite me feeling rather relaxed and not experiencing any pain throughout the process. how do I get rid of / reduce it? thanks

@Draven Grey thanks for taking the time to make a video. I've managed to achieve what I think is a smoker's voice with the high-to-low pitch method, but am concerned with whether I'm doing it correctly. After doing for a short while, I'm getting a scratchy feeling at the back of my throat, just where I start to swallow (no pain, and it persists after the session). I'm aware some discomfort is normal when starting out, but this is the first time I've felt this throughout the course which is why I'm worried. Just wanted to check with you if this is normal and I should continue to practise from here? I've attached a short clip of my smoker's voice, I'd be really grateful if you could help take a listen.
