Gents, I want your honest opinion on a style I keep seeing lately:
I’ve seen it a few times in real life — even today at a café, an older guy wearing a gray suit with a beige hoodie. I’ve also seen it on TV, like on the Arab version of Shark Tank where one of the founders went with that look.
Personally, I’m conflicted — but not in the sense that I’m sold on it. Most of the time, it feels odd to me, and sometimes even a bit try-hard rather than confident.
I do like mixing a suit with a T-shirt — that feels modern, clean, and intentional. But a hoodie under a suit feels like a much heavier statement, and in many cases it looks like the suit and hoodie are fighting each other instead of working together.
I can imagine it working only in very specific situations — maybe when the person already has status, credibility, or a clear creative identity, like someone walking into a Shark Tank pitch. Even then, it feels more like a deliberate message than a naturally stylish choice.
So I’m curious:
- Do you see this as confident or forced?
- When, if ever, does it actually work for you?
- Would you personally wear it, or is it a hard no?
Interested to hear your thoughts.
