Vintage Omegas - any fans?

Many years ago, when I was in college and poor in the 80s (😂), my sister was a sales person at a US mall jewelry chain called Ringmaker (which I don’t think exists anymore). I saw a beautiful Omega Seamaster with metal bracelet that I badly wanted to buy. Even with her amazing discount, I just could not justify the price, and never really got into wearing nice watches over the years.

A couple years ago, I set out trying to find the exact model and through a friend who collected vintage watches, was able to find a second hand vintage watch dealer who found one out of Japan that was in just flawless shape.from 1988-89 as I recall. While there are some of the newer Omega models that I really like, I find the vintage one I have to be kind of unusual. What are your thoughts about vintage Omega, or even the new ones?
