Thursday Doctors Appointment

Today going to the VA Hospital for an appointment and check on some paperwork. I know that I will be there for a while. Even though it’s a doctor's appointment still dressed like I always do. It was nice to have people tell me that they liked my look, and several staff members complimented me and stated they love when I come in because I always look nice and smell terrific. I did meet another gentleman who was a staff member and was dressed very nice wearing a waist coat and tie. He commented that it was nice to see another gentleman in the hospital. We had a great conversation and I told him about the Society and gave him a business card. Just because we have things to do and appointments like doctor's appointments does not mean we should lower our standards when not warranted. I will say that I needed to speak to a Veteran’s Affairs Representative, but I did not have an appointment; however, I was taken personally to her office and was seen without an appointment and I believe it was because of how I represented and carried myself. I also had to go by the music store to pickup my grandson’s music instrument, and I arrived before they were opened and was waiting patiently outside and one of the employees came to the door and invited me in and took care of me 20 minutes before they opened. The power of a well dressed gentleman will always be known.
