OOTD - Saturday 25 April (ANZAC Day)
If you are in the US think Memorial Day, or Veterans Day
ANZAC stands for the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, formed in World War I.
It’s also used to describe the soldiers from those forces—especially remembered for the Gallipoli campaign and ANZAC Day commemorations.
The Gallipoli landing happened on 25 April 1915, and the ANZAC service starts at 0530 with the Bugle playing Reveille at the Sun breaches into the day.
This morning Nicole read the Ode at the service, I will put it below
“They went with songs to the battle, They were young, straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow,
They were staunch to the end against odds uncountered, they fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old,
As we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condem them,
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them. CROWD - WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
Lest We Forget. CROWD - LET WE FORGET
This is then followed by The Last Post, 2 minutes science and then Reveille. Then the NAtional anthems of New Zealand 🇳🇿 and Australia 🇦🇺
Todays outfit consists of;
