We've all heard that metals should match metals. Thus, a stainless steel watch shouldn't be worn with a blazer, gold-rimmed aviators, and gold rings. Given that many watches incorporate some gold into their design, where is the crossover point for acceptability?
Is gilt on the dial, indicies, and hands, like the Black Bay 58?
A two-tone watch that has gold prominently on the bezel and bracelet (if applicable), like the Datejust?
Or is a fully gold toned/plated/actual gold watch required, like the PRX?
Or are watches exempt from the rule altogether?
