Why buy expensive cologne?
Please educate me. For years (like decades almost) I wore one cologne and one cologne only until they stopped making it (I didn’t know and couldn’t stock up before it was gone and it haunts me to this day). Since I can no longer wear it and have gone through the last of it minus a small bottle I only use on VERY special occasions. I’ve been trying and buying new scents. The old scent I wore was middle of the road in price and I can go on forever about how much I loved it, but I’ve found many new scents now that cover the spectrum in terms of price and I can’t seem to tell one from another in the price justification. My question now is this, I’ve tried Dior and other expensive colognes and I don’t find them to last longer or require less than other cheap fragrances that cost 1/5 to 1/3 of the price. So if the scent is attractive and it smells good on your skin and lasts etc. what’s the benefit of buying high end scents? I understand it with shoes, clothes for nicer construction, fit, and fabrics, and even watches (to a certain extent) but not with scents. Can anyone educate me as to what I don’t know or maybe I’m missing to spend more on different more pricey or luxury brands of colognes? Is there a reason or should I just save my money and buy cheaper options if it’s still “good” I’m interested to hear your thoughts. This may be an area I’m uneducated.

Depends on the expensive cologne and whether you're buying from department stores or discounters. Most designer colognes are (or were, pre-tariff depending on the designer) still less than $100 for a 100ml bottle on Joma or other discounters. At that point, the premium over a Lattafa or a Club I find acceptable. I'm not spending $500 on Aventus though.

@Billy Fisher I primarily use Jomashop.com. I used to also use Perfumesonline.ca but they've become much more expensive since the De Minimis exemption went away.
Capsule Wardrobe
Hello all. This is my first post. I am a bit of a minimalist and have seen things about capsule wardrobes. I’m wondering if anyone currently does this and what would you suggest as staples for it. Thanks all

Really, you don't need a capsule wardrobe. You need 4. Casual, office/work, athletic/maintenance and dress/formal. For a summer climate 8 casual shirts 8 casual pants 2 casual shoes 6 office shirts 6 office pants 2 office shoes 8 athletic shirts 8 athletic pants 2 athletic shoes Swim trunks 2 suits 3 dress shirts In colder climates I'd double the number of shirts and add sweaters and jackets as categories, but considering you're in Arizona I think you can make do without them.

Something else no one has mentioned: the socks. Generally you only want your socks to contrast the pant or the shoe if both of them are muted (like red socks with a navy suit and dark brown dress shoes). With them being bright/light, the contrast doesn't really work as well and they should either be a similar color to the pant or the shoe. Or, you can go no-show with loafers, that's another great way to style them.
Graphic tees
Antonio says “nay” for graphic tees and the elder statesman. Anyone just bagged them all and donated them? Just rip off the Band Aid and cold turkey those things?

They're still great for the gym and maintenance.
