Laundry segregation

I have considered myself a "laundry aficionado" for 20+ years now. I have been doing my own laundry since the age of eight. But this week I was humbled by Mr. Rajiv Surendra. Mr. Surendra posted a video entitled "The main rule of laundry and why" which has thrown me for a loop. It all makes so much more sense now.
