Dear Gents
I am truly disappointed with the world we live in today!!!
The other day I went to my mom’s late grandparents’ house. My grandfather died before my mother got married, and my grandmother died when I was 5 years old.
I hadn’t stepped through those doors in years, and there were parts of the house I’d never even been to in my life.
It was simple work, but painful for me. I have lack of stamina and willingness to do this kind of work—removing the old furniture.
It was just a job my father asked me to help with: carrying furniture that was a century old.
But to my surprise, it was quite light!!!
I managed to carry several pieces like desks, tables, and cabinets. Without any difficulty at all. In fact, those furniture just needed a simple cleaning and would be ready to use!!!
The heaviest and hardest pieces to carry were two cabinets from the ’70s—they were basically do-it-yourself!
These grandfathers are my biggest reference for the Old Money style, especially my mother's father.
He really liked to dress well;
No one could ever accuse him of being rude;
He knew how to get along anywhere and talk to any person;
He only bought clothes that were high-quality, if the clothes didn't have quality, he wouldn't buy them...
Everything I've learned about Old Money comes from him and his way of life.
So, as a young person with this vision of the past, looking at the world today, it’s a bit hard not to be disappointed!!!
