Conference Advice Needed

I’ve got an overnight business professional conference coming up (Cutco sales, includes a factory tour during the day and dinner with some executives at night).

Question: Is a tie considered necessary for business professional in this setting, or is a suit with a crisp dress shirt (no tie) still appropriate? I want to look sharp and respectful without being overdressed for the tour.

Would appreciate input from those who’ve been in similar business/professional conference settings.
