Today we're having brunch downtown and will browse a bit at the Arts Alive Festival - a showcase event for local artists and artisans.
- That last image is for you... My outfit today features one of three items from my Brooks Brothers haul this past weekend. It's a blue and white, herringbone, 100% linen sportscoat in the largest size Brooks Brothers makes.
While shopping at the Outlets in Destin, Florida I stopped by the Brooks Brothers store and spotted two sportscoats I really liked. At 30% off, they were still $350 - so I wasn't certain I liked them that much and ended up passing on both.
Then, the next day, I got a targeted marketing email from Brooks Brothers with a 50% off coupon code that was valid for their outlet (factory) stores as well as retail. So, on our way out of town, we stopped by to purchase one of them. My wife suggested I just get both, since they were going to be 50% off the regular price, and offered to buy them for me. The best part? The coupon worked but it took 50% off the current sale price instead of the sticker price!
Then, on our way home, we stopped at the Outlets in Leeds, Alabama so she could see if they had some things in her size at the stores there they didn't have in Destin. While there, I stopped in at that Brooks Brothers store and happened to find two, matching suit separates that fit me (except for the pants needing hemmed) in the clearance section!
I ended up getting two sportscoats (one linen, one summer wool) and a suit for less than $600 all total! To be fair, it sorta cost me nothing since my wife bought them for me.
😁
The haul:
- This linen sportscoat.
- A dark red, summer wool sportscoat. (Doesn't feel like tropical wool or a fresco but it's definitely a summer wool.)
- A mid-gray, puppytooth, 100% wool suit.
I'll feature these in future outfits once I'm able; the dark red sportscoat had to be ordered in my size and the suit needs a minor alteration.
