Take your time for ground and pound
In Brazilian Jiu Jutsu they often say: Position before submission.
The same counts for ground and pound.
If you just start tapping your opponent with a flurry of taps... You're not doing that much damage.
It's a difficult balance to find, but you want just enough control of the position, to load up and fire a big shot to your opponent.
Or so jukuchou told us for Tatsujin fighting rules.
Anyone any experience with this?
