Sales Discount Approval Flow – Summary
Just completed an automation project that improves how Sales Reps at Currys PC World request and track discounts during deal negotiations.
🛠️ Part 1:
I built a Screen Flow that:
- Only allows discount requests in the Negotiation/Review stage
- Captures the proposed discount & reason
- Updates the Opportunity and sets the request to Pending
- Sends a real-time email alert with Opportunity details to the approver
📊 Bonus: Added validation to warn if discount > 20%
🛠️ Part 2:
I created a Record-Triggered Flow that:
- Listens for updates to the Discount Status
- Sends an email notification when a discount is Approved or Rejected
- Includes key Opportunity details, discount info, and a direct record link
