Working out the kinks!
I'm going to figure out how to change my name! My gubment name ain't happening' in this context I'm Folasade!
Comfort or Community
I'm looking out my living room window at fresh snow while I sip tea. I've been up for a few hours and getting it in on administrative tasks for my businesses. But I've hit a slight wall. My apartment is warm. I have food and drinks. But, I feel like I could be even. more productive if I head to my favorite coffee shop to get another couple of hours of work done. But instead of looking at the snow - I would have to get out in it. But here's the thing. I've been working in coffee shops forever - before it became a huge thing. Why do I seem to study better, get more work done - even as there's hustle and bustle around me and a chorus of voices sometimes oversharing. I think its the feeling of being in Community. In my apartment I'm isolated with myself and then there's all the things staring at me (pile of clothes), dishes to be washed - the usual suspects trying to get my attention. Seems we humans tend to be more productive when we are in Community. So let me bundle up, call a Lyft and head out. I also have a client I need to see so I'll call her and ask if she would like to join me at In Harmony Cafe and Sweets. I can win my day and participate in a circular economy (pretty sure I'm buying something) that helps my dollars to circulate in my Community a little before it heads to the broader "economy". If you are out and about - stop by (google it) I can take a break and we can chop it up for a few.
Its my Birth Day
I was born on a Friday so I’m claiming my birthday weekly. I was born on Bunkers Hill in Maroon country I. My great grandma’s house. How freaking special is that! When is your Birth Day? How will you honor the miracle that you are? Tod
Gratitude for this space!🙏🏾💛
Thank you for creating this space, Nezaa! I look forward to learning about the cultural foods/food preparation I can incorporate in my meals. I recently completed a 12-week journey with a sister who promotes the nurtritarian lifestyle. It was a wonderful experience. And although, it's not a restrictive approach to eating, a month or so after I'd finished, I found myself having cravings for foods that I didn't crave during the 12 weeks or subsequent six weeks. Giving in to those food cravings, have me eating (and drinking) things I hadn't had in months. The difference now is I'm not beating myself up about it. I realize that there are some things *my* body *should have* that may not be recommended in the nutritarian way of eating. I'm here to learn that! I've always appreciated your cultural approach, and of course, your meals and desserts!
