Beginning the Day in Gratitude
A gentle reminder as you begin your day. The body doesn’t separate what you feel from how it functions. Every thought, every emotion, every moment of stress or stillness becomes chemistry shaping your metabolism in real time. I recently shared Dr. Miller as a resource to explore on YouTube, and this video, originally shared in response to Covid, feels just as relevant right now. The message reaches beyond a moment in time and speaks to how we care for ourselves in any season of stress or uncertainty. This morning, I chose this video as a guide for my gratitude practice. I could still feel remnants of an emotional trigger from yesterday, and I wanted to center myself before stepping into the day. Today is also my oldest granddaughter Yara’s 8th birthday. I want to show up for her celebration in a peaceful grandma mode, not from a place of dysregulation. I want her to feel how deeply grateful I am for her, not just through words, but through my presence. His work invites us to see the body and mind not as separate conversations, but as one continuous dialogue. When you move through life in a constant state of pressure, your body listens, adapts, and protects. Sometimes that protection shows up as imbalance, disrupted hormones, low energy, or a metabolism that feels stuck. And yet, the shift does not begin with force. It begins with awareness, with softness, with coming back home to yourself Even a single deep breath and moment of stillness or conscious pause before reacting, are signals of safety. And safety is where the body begins to restore. So this morning, instead of asking what do I need to do. Gently ask, how do I want to feel? Let that feeling guide your body back into rhythm. Sharing this from Dr. Miller as a reminder that wellness is not something we chase, it’s something we return to. https://youtu.be/vVfoxOb3ViI?si=BnnVahUcnxW2tmai
