First off, HUGE thank you to everyone who showed up yesterday and participated. We had a great turnout and I hope you walked away with a better understanding of your physical fitness, where you currently stand, and what you need to work on. If you need help with your fitness, we have programming available right here in the Classroom. If you want something more specific to YOU and where you are at, reach out to Will or me and we can get you plugged in. Now let’s talk interviews. I’m uploading our recorded video where we worked with some of our recruits on their interview questions. You can be in the best shape of your life, crush the physical, have all the certifications, and look great on paper. But if you don’t interview well, you can miss out on your dream opportunity with that department. That’s why I keep preaching STATION VISITS. When you visit a station, pay attention. Listen to what they’re telling you. Ask questions. A lot of the things they talk about can help you understand what that department values and what may come up during your interview. And then COME BACK HERE and share it with the crew. 🔥 What did you wear? 🔥 What did you bring? 🔥 What questions did they ask you? 🔥 What did you learn? 🔥 What would you do differently next time? Be vulnerable. Share the good and the bad. That’s how this community gets better. YOU GO, WE GO. And if interviews are something you struggle with, schedule a 1 on 1 with us. I’m telling you this from experience. It took me 7 YEARS to get hired. Yes, during those years I went to a fire academy and paramedic school, but think about how much time and money that took. Some departments have their own academy and may even send you to paramedic school. That alone could save you $20,000 or more. I don’t want you making the same mistakes I made, or that thousands of other candidates have made, and spending years trying to figure this process out on your own. Use the resources. Use the community. Ask questions. Prepare yourself.
