Lean Presentation Notes
I need some help refining a PowerPoint presentation. Please feel free to send whatever feedback you feel may add value. Don’t hold back, I promise you won’t hurt my feelings. A little back story: I’ve been putting lean tools and philosophy into practice since the year started, very much acting as a “lone champion” in my small semi custom home building company. For reference our division will close 60 houses this year, and I’m covering about half of those (I am one of four CM’s). The presentation will be made at our next monthly builder meeting in front of the 3 other construction managers, 1 assistant CM, 3 warranty managers, our director of construction (my direct superior) and the VP of Construction (he oversees field ops over the entire company, including our semi custom division). I’m trying to make this as easily digestible as possible, since pre-existing lean knowledge in the room will be slim at best. I don’t have an exact date for this presentation yet, but I’m thinking it will be 2nd week of September. I’ve spent a lot of time putting these practices to work on a day to day basis and I want to make sure that is reflected in the presentation. I’m really looking forward to your feedback! It’s been incredible to be a part of a true grassroots effort at my company, but still have the backing and support of the old dawgs. Appreciate everyone in this group!
Better Together
Construction was never meant to be done alone. 🐶🚧 The best builders we know didn’t get better by keeping everything to themselves. They got better because somebody showed them. Somebody corrected them. Somebody challenged them. Somebody took five minutes and saved them five years. That’s the Old Dawg way. 🧠 Share what you know 👂 Listen to what others have lived 🤝 Help the next person get better 👷 Respect the trades 🔥 Build people, not just projects No corporate fluff. No gatekeeping. No “figure it out like I had to.” Just builders building builders. 🐾 Built by those who do, and shared for those who will! 👷♂️👷♀️🐾 #OldDawgs #BuildersBuildingBuilders #ConstructionLeadership #SharingConstructionWisdom #RespectTheTrades #HumanSideOfConstruction
Better Together
Time to write a book fellas!!!
📚 Now Available – BRACE ME: The Lean Framework for Love and Leadership For over 30 years in the construction industry, I’ve learned that success isn’t measured only by the projects we complete, the schedules we meet, or the profits we make. True success is measured by the relationships we build, the people we develop, and the legacy we leave behind. Too often, we are taught to focus on work at the expense of everything else. I’ve lived that lesson firsthand. Through years of leadership, personal struggles, victories, and growth, I discovered that the same Lean principles that help us build better projects can also help us build stronger families, healthier relationships, and better lives. BRACE ME: The Lean Framework for Love and Leadership is a practical guide centered around seven key principles: ✅ Balance✅ Reflection✅ Communication✅ Establish✅ Action✅ Education✅ Mentoring Whether you’re a leader, tradesperson, business owner, parent, spouse, or someone striving to become better every day, my hope is that this book provides tools and real-life experiences that help you strengthen what matters most. My priorities have become simple: God. Family. Work. When those are in the right order, everything else becomes easier to navigate. Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey, purchased a copy, and shared feedback. Seeing this message resonate with others has made every hour spent writing worthwhile. If this book helps even one person find better balance, become a stronger leader, or build stronger relationships, then it has accomplished its purpose. #Leadership #LeanThinking #ConstructionLeadership #PersonalDevelopment #FamilyFirst #Mentoring #ContinuousImprovement #LeanConstruction #LeadershipDevelopment #GodFamilyWork
