Seeing all of the examples of successful filmmakers who followed this blueprint is a real confidence booster. My biggest takeaway addresses the biggest concern I’ve had here in the past, which is the lack of professional actors. What you presented in this lesson validates what I’ve developed over the last year of producing an experimental “video comic book” series without professional actors. I, too, have found that putting non actors in very minimally scripted scenes which reflect who they are has been the best solution. Knowing others have been successful with that directing approach is very encouraging. My biggest challenge is crafting a no-budget feature that stands alone as a story, but also gives entry into my bigger fantasy universe (which will require bigger vfx budgets).
